Get Real -
Attributes of an Authentic Faith
The book of James was written by James, Jesus’ brother, to encourage the Christians in the first century who had been scattered by Roman persecution. Rome was waging war against Christianity and his letter served as words of hope, strength and instruction to those Christians. While Christians in America certainly don’t face hungry lions we certainly have challenges to our faith.
In this series we will work through the book of James and learn to develop a strong and authentic version of Christianity in our lives.
July 3 / 4
A Confident Stand
In the first message of this series we will take a look at the attribute of perseverance under fire. We are talking “staying power.” We will learn how to build and remain strong in our faith without wavering in tough circumstances.
July 10 / 11
Compassionate Service
In spite of difficult times we should still be mindful of others’ needs. A genuine faith is ALWAYS going to include service…not just lip service. In this second message we will learn why service to others is so important and how we can develop that lifestyle.
July 17 / 18
Controlled Speech

Listen to this message free for a limited time.
July 24 / 25
Contrite Submission
In this chapter James addresses the topic of humility before God. Humility is not well regarded in our culture of pride and winning, but the Christian’s greatest source of power and strength is in a surrendered position before God.
July 31 / Aug 1
Concerned Sharing
It should matter to us greatly if others know Christ. This should be one of our greatest values, because NOTHING matters more to God than this. In this final message of the series we will learn how to live a lifestyle that attracts others to Christ.
